Birdsnest

Bird’s Nest Corals are a species of Seriatopora. They are a very fast growing small polyp stony (SPS) coral known for bright colors and thin delicate branches that form a dense cluster. They are different than most SPS in that they seem to prefer lower lighting environments, when compared to say Acropora, and tend to not do well under lighting that is not too intense. We like to keep them under 100-200 par and this seems to make them grow like weeds for us. If you’re hesitant to take the next step and add some sps into your reef tank, birdsnest would more than likely be a good stepping stone. As far as sps goes these are on the easier side care wise.
