Collection: Zoanthids / Palythoas (zoas and palys)

Zoanthids or zoa's often refers to three types of coral with similar growth and appearance zoanthids, palythoa and protopalythoa. Zoanthids are photosynthetic, meaning they absorb much of their nutrition from light. Zoas can adapt to a wide range of lighting. We recommend keeping zoas between 100-150 par, but they’d probably fair fine anywhere from 50-200. Zoas are very forgiving in aquariums and adapt well to different conditions. That said, they need stability to thrive. Sudden changes in lighting, temperature or salinity can cause polyps to be unhappy, slow growth, or even lead to loss of the coral.
